What is The Albert Centre?

Our work

The Albert Centre is a registered charity which provides advice, treatment, support and counselling services to adults who have or are directly affected by alcohol or drug misuse problems. We have drawn upon our 30 years of experience to create a programme of treatment interventions that facilitates a person’s progression from addiction through to recovery, utilising proven interventions in a bespoken approach to empower and enable the individual to change their lifestyles and overcome their addiction.

We passionately believe that everyone has the ability to overcome their addiction and make a full, sustained recovery, and therefore we ensure that the environments, in which we practice, the interventions which we deliver, and the systems in which we operate, are all conducive to recovery and are outcome focused.

Counselling

We recognise that substance misuse is often a symptom or result of a stressful lifestyle, traumatic event or a method to cope with unhappiness. There are times when it is not possible to talk openly and freely with family and friends. The Albert Centre offers confidential, client centred counselling for individuals experiencing problems in relation to Alcohol or Drug misuse.

Counsellors work with the client to help them explore and understand issues that cause, affect or contribute to their alcohol or drug abuse or hinder their recovery; the counsellor sees a client in a private and confidential setting to explore the difficulty the client is having, distress they may be experiencing or perhaps their dissatisfaction with life or loss of a sense of direction and purpose.

Our Statement

The Albert Centre aims to promote recovery from drug and alcohol addiction and misuse by ensuring each individual has equal access to the advice, treatment, counselling and aftercare including the support required to access employment, training and suitable accommodation in order to recover and fully reintegrate into society.
