Boundaries and Personal Safety Training

Why do you need boundaries and personal safety training?

An innocent act of kindness can leave you and your organisation in an awkward and potentially untenable position.  Accusations surrounding collusion, false relationship claims and you and your organisations professional integrity is also called into question!

What is the aim of this training?

The aim of this training is to enhance awareness of professional and personal boundaries and their importance with regard to personal and client safety. Additionally, we will aim to reduce fear and anxiety among your workforce with regards to their personal safety.

What will the course cover?

We examine what are professional boundaries and differentiate between these and personal boundaries, including transference and counter transference.

Clients occasionally express their gratitude by buying staff members gifts. We find out what’s ok and what’s not. In order to protect staff and organisations, we examine gifts in detail.

Off the shelf or bespoke?

Different organisations have different policies. We would use your organisational policies to ensure this training is a worthwhile training event and not a theoretical exercise.

Underpinning all of the information regarding boundaries is the requirement to keep yourself safe, your colleagues safe and the organisation safe too!

Whilst there is clear legislation available to guide and protect you, your organisational policies will bring the legislation to life. Course participants will be encouraged to examine and share best practice. This has found to be especially beneficial in team building. We will, if appropriate, examine lone working policy, risk assessments, buddying arrangements and confidentiality issues.

This training is about helping individuals feel prepared and aware, placing safety and ethical professional boundaries firmly in the conscious part of the mind.
