Organisational Information for CommissionersThe Albert Centre is a North East based charity that helps communities to tackle the problems caused by drug and alcohol misuse. Our aim is to help build stronger, safer and healthier communities where everyone has the opportunity to realise their full potential. With over 30 years’ experience of providing alcohol misuse, education, training and outreach services, The Albert Centre has developed innovative projects, working in the community, in health centres and GP surgeries, in hospitals, and within the health and Criminal Justice System. The needs of commissioners and partners are always in our mind; in particular, how to achieve efficiency savings whilst maintaining the quality of our services and seeking innovative ways to enable us to deliver more. The Albert Centre achieves this by having outcome focused services, flexibility when delivering services, competitive management fees and reinvesting any surplus monies back into the communities where we deliver services. The Albert Centre has a 30 year history of training and investing in volunteers, having a robust workforce development plan, increasing service capacity and keeping unit costs low. Our excellent reputation for working with commissioners and partners has been successfully established and continually reaffirmed since our formation in 1981. We aim to prevent drug and alcohol misuse by working within communities to raise awareness of the issues and provide training and education, to professionals and individuals affected by alcohol misuse. The Albert Centre is a Home Office Approved provider of Drink Banning Order Training courses and a Department of Transport approved regional provider of Drink Drive Rehabilitation Courses. We passionately believe that everyone has the ability to overcome their addiction and make a full, sustained recovery, and therefore we ensure that the environments, in which we practice, the interventions which we deliver, and the systems in which we operate, are all conducive to recovery and are outcome focused |
