DRINK-DRIVE REHABILITATION COURSECourses are run in conjunction with the Department of Transport and Magistrates' Courts of Teesside, North Yorkshire and South Durham. Benefits of attending The Clerk of the Court will notify the DVLA of your success, thus reducing your period of disqualification by up to 25%. The course can help you to keep your licence. What is the cost?Course fees are £120 (inc a £45 non-returnable deposit) for unemployed, full time students and OAP's or £220 (inc a £70 non-returnable deposit) if employed. You pay the fee directly to the Albert Centre, which is a registered charity. The fees pay for the provision, administration and management of the courses. Aims of the course The purpose of the course is to educate people on alcohol and its effects and to reduce re-offending. A range of issues will be covered, including: · Information about alcohol and its effects on the body · The effect of alcohol consumption on performance particularly driving ability and behaviour · Analysis of drink-driving offences · Alternatives to drink-driving future action and sources of advice Format of the course The course is educational and lasts three days, inclusive of breaks. Each day has six hours learning time, starts at 9.30 am and finishes about 4.30 pm allowing for lunch and tea breaks.
